How Botox Works
Botox injections are one of the most popular options to treat facial wrinkles and creases. Botox is different than dermal fillers because it blocks signals to the muscles preventing them from contracting and future wrinkles from forming. It also relaxes the muscles making current wrinkles soften and lessen in appearance. Botox injections only take several minutes and require no anesthesia.

Botox Injections
Some results are viable instantly with full effects taking between three and seven days. To get best results, do not rub the treated area for 12 hours after treatment and stop taking aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications previous to treatment to reduce bruising. Effects will last anywhere from four to six months. Over time with regular maintenance, lines and wrinkles will reappear less severe since the muscles have been trained to relax.

How Long Does Voluma Last?

Juvederm Voluma is the only filler proven to last up to 2 years. The hyaluronic acid in Juvederm Voluma slowly metabolizes over time, so patients often opt for a follow-up treatment when their results start to diminish.

What area is Voluma recommended for?
Juvederm Voluma® is ideal for the cheek area to add volume and plumpness. The filler is often used in people who have experienced volume loss in the face and cheeks either due to aging or illness. As we mature, our cheeks naturally start losing volume, and the skin can lose elasticity and cause a bit of sagging.

Botox Side Effects

Side effects are mild and Botox is generally well tolerated. The most common side effect is bruising and headaches which usually subside after 24 to 48 hours. Women who are pregnant or breast feeding should post-pone treatment until after pregnancy.

Voluma Side Effects

Because Juvederm Voluma gel contains lidocaine, no other anesthetic is necessary. You may feel a slight pinch as the micro-needle is inserted but the majority of patients don’t have any issues. The numbing lidocaine solution helps keep patients comfortable throughout the procedure.
Side effects with Voluma injections are typically rare but can affect every patient differently. You may experience mild-to-moderate swelling, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site. These symptoms should pass within a few weeks. Any pain or discomfort can be easily managed with over-the-counter medications.

Juvederm Side Effects
Treatment sessions take about 15 minutes and provide immediate results with no downtime. Results typically last about 6-9 months and can be extended as long as desired with follow up treatments. Side effects with Juvéderm™ are rare with most being mild and short lasting. Side effects can include redness, tenderness, swelling, bruising and itching.

Juvéderm™ is being touted as the next generation of facial fillers and wrinkle removers. It is a smooth gel filler that gently fills wrinkles and folds around the mouth and nose producing natural looking results while restoring youthful volume to the face. It is available in four formulas that are optimized for the depth of the area to be treated.

Areas that are best treated by Juvederm include:

Smile lines

Crows Feet

Lip Enhancement

Vertical Lip Lines

Nasolabial Folds

What is Juvederm?
Juvéderm™ consists of hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring molecule in the skin. It absorbs water and maintains volume in the face. When HA levels decrease with age, wrinkles begin to form. Juvéderm™ injects small amount of HA back into wrinkled areas where it works with collagen and elastin to instantly provide volume and support to your skin.
